Wolfram|Alpha Wins Best in Show and Technical Achievement at SXSW Interactive Web Awards

Breakthrough Technology Recognized by Judges as Favorite among Finalists

Wolfram Alpha LLC, creator of the Wolfram|Alpha computational knowledge engine yesterday won two Web Awards at the prestigious SXSW Interactive Festival, including Best in Show and Technical Achievement.

“Wolfram|Alpha is a breakthrough technology and a breakthrough product,” said Shawn O’Keefe, Interactive Festival Producer. “Every year the Web Awards feature a group of innovative companies that show us what the future of the web will look like. Wolfram|Alpha was part of an exceptional set of finalists and is a deserving winner of the Best in Show and Technical Achievement awards.”

Previous winners of the SXSW Interactive Web Awards include Twitter, Hulu, and Flickr. Honorees are recognized for pushing the boundaries of today’s online experience, and using technology to make nontrivial contributions to society at large.

The SXSW Interactive Web Awards ceremony was held on Sunday, March 14, 2010. The competition uncovers the best new websites and celebrates those who are building tomorrow’s great online communities and businesses.
